PLANT GUIDE

A by-the-season guide to the native plants of Kamloops and area, by local biologist Paul Handford.  Available in searchable .pdf files in two sizes;  LO-RES for cell phones and HI-RES for tablets and computers.

This year, along with adding new species from the 2020 season to the main guide, (in both Hi-Res and Lo-Res versions), I have also arranged the components of this guide differently from previous editions:  I have removed the pages showing the calendar progress of flowering by the various species from the main document into a separate document (Flowering Season 2021), for easier reference.

There is also a new short document (HowToUse+Key) that

a) explains how the main document might best be used, and
b) provides a simple key to the families of plants contained in the guide, to help provide for more efficient use of the guide itself.

Happy 2021 botanizing, everyone!

Among the most common and widespread — not to say eye-pleasing — wildflowers in the drier parts of North America, and well-represented in the southern interior of BC, are the daisies.

This short document illustrates and describes the daisies that may be encountered in south-central BC, particularly around Kamloops and surrounding area. Comparative notes are included, to aid identification.
